TripWise (“the app”, “we”) is built to respect your privacy. It is designed to work locally on your device. This policy explains what the app accesses and why.
Your settings (country, currency, costs, tax percentages, language, goal), your saved trips and your subscription status are stored only on your device. We do not run a server that collects this data and we do not upload it to us.
On Android, TripWise can show a floating button over your driver app using the Accessibility service. Only at the moment you tap that button, the app reads the trip offer currently on your screen (by taking a one-off screenshot that is processed with on-device text recognition, or by reading the on-screen text). This is used solely to extract the fare, distance and time so the app can analyse the offer. The app never reads your screen in the background, never performs actions for you, and the screen content is processed on your device and is not transmitted to us or to any third party. You can turn the Accessibility service off at any time in Android Settings → Accessibility.
TripWise requests the Accessibility permission for the feature described above. It does not request your contacts, location, microphone or camera.
Paid subscriptions are processed by the app store (Google Play / Apple App Store) and, where applicable, our subscription provider RevenueCat. Your payment details are handled by the store, not by us. The store/RevenueCat process limited purchase information to manage your subscription; please see their privacy policies.
To understand which ads bring drivers to TripWise, we use Tenjin, a mobile measurement provider. If you install the app after tapping one of our ads (for example on Meta/Facebook, Instagram or TikTok), TripWise shares your device advertising identifier and basic install and subscription events with Tenjin, which reports aggregated results back to the ad platform. This is used only to measure and improve our advertising — we never sell your data. On iOS you are asked for permission (App Tracking Transparency) before the advertising identifier is used; if you decline, measurement falls back to the privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork from Apple. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device Settings. Your trips, costs and settings are never shared for advertising and stay on your device.
TripWise is intended for adult gig-economy drivers and is not directed at children.
Because data lives on your device, you can remove it by clearing your trip history in the app or by uninstalling the app.
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the date above and in the app.
